  • Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA)

    The Academy of Model Aeronautics is the world's largest sport aviation organization, representing a membership of more than 170,000 people. The Academy is a self-supporting, non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote development of aeromodeling as a recognized sport and worthwhile recreational activity. The Academy is the official national body for model aviation in the United States; more than 1,000 model aeromodeling competitions are sanctioned by the AMA every year. More than 2,500 aeromodeling clubs are chartered by the Academy. AMA offers chartered clubs official contest sanctions, insurance, and assistance in getting and keeping flying sites. The Academy is the voice of the membership, working with local, state and national government agencies to promote the interests of its members and clubs. The Academy is an associate member of the National Aeronautic Association.

    British Toy & Hobby Association

    The purpose of the British Toy & Hobby Association is to promote and, where possible to bring about, the most benign commercial, industrial and political climate for its members activities'; also, in circumstances where the collective interests are specifically threatened, to organize and conduct appropriate defense.

    Craft & Hobby Association

    In early 2004, the Hobby Industry Association (HIA) and the Association of Crafts & Creative Industries (ACCI), joined together to form the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA). Together as CHA, the new Association forms a single more dynamic and powerful force to drive the craft industry into the future. CHA's vision, simply stated, is to create a vibrant industry with an exciting image, an expanding customer base and successful members. The goal is to stimulate the sales growth of the craft and hobby industry worldwide by creating consumer demand, helping members succeed and leading the industry.

    International Federation of Model Auto Racing

    IFMAR is a professional organization, using volunteers who give their time but do receive something towards their expenses. A total of 42 countries worldwide are members through their various blocs. There are two Sections within IFMAR - one for i.c. classes and one for electric classes.

    International Radio Control Helicopter Association

    IRCHA was founded in 1989 as a "WE" organization to promote the interest of all model helicopter enthusiasts, IRCHA became the recognized Special Interest Group (SIG) for helicopters to the Academy of Model Aeronautics. As part of the official SIG you have a voice in the process that determines the future of model helicopters. Whether your interests are truly competitive or just simply sport-flying, IRCHA rep- resents your interests to the Academy. The Executive Committee of IRCHA is elected on a biannual basis by the general membership. The officers all serve on a volunteer basis, donating their time and effort to make IRCHA an organization that follows the desires of the majority of the membership.

    North American Model Boat Association
    NAMBA International is a non-profit association of radio-controlled model boat clubs. A President, Vice President, and a number of District Directors are elected by the members, and serve a two year term. The President also appoints knowledgeable chairmen in such areas as Electric, Offshore, Sport Hydro, Outboard, and Unlimited Hydro.
