Nov 1 - Oct 2010: Tiffany Treasures: Favrile Glass from Rarely Seen Collections
Corning, NY. At the Corning Museum of Glass. This exhibit will include a selection of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s blown glass, designed by Tiffany and made at his glasshouse in Corona, New York between about 1895 and 1920. He gave the glass the name “Favrile”, which was derived from the old English “fabrile” meaning hand-wrought. These blown glass pieces, many of which were iridescent as well as irregular in form, became popular with the public very quickly and inspired many other glass designers. Nov 14 - Mar 21, 2010: Migrate 2009

Now - Nov 28: Annie E. Brown: In Memory
Ontario, Canada. Touring from the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery, Waterloo, this exhibition, involving historical artifacts and contemporary work created by Karina Guévin, Paul Stankard, Catherine Vamvakas-Lay and Tim Whiten, is curated by Virginia Eichhorne. It was inspired in part by a ghost story about Annie E. Brown. It is an exploration of the past and the present and their intersection, featuring objects that embody the act of mourning and commemoration in glass or ceramic elements from the Victorian time. Now - Nov 29: Strasbourg, Glass Capital is 2009 International Glass Bienniale
Banque CIC, Strasbourg, France. While the use of the medium glass by the artists is booming, the International Glass Bienniale 2009, which presents 14 exhibitions in and around the city of Strasbourg, turns determinedly to contemporary art with artists such as Yves Chaudouet, Rachel Maisonneuve and also Jean-Pierre Umbdenstock. This event, initiated by ESGAA (European Studio Glass Art Association), presents the works of artists using glass as the main medium or sometimes associated with stone, metal has or other materials. Now - Nov 30: Under the Sea
Louisville, KY. The exhibit focuses on the parallel beauties of water and glass, with a particular focus on sea life. Exhibiting artists include Tommy Spake, Jake Pfeifer, Laurel Streible, Bryan Holden, Tiffany Zink, Brook White, Jonathan Capps, Tiffany Ackerman, and Susie Slabaugh. Now - Ongoing: Contemporary Glass
Palm Springs, CA. Held at the Palm Springs Art Museum. The glass center is installed with glass works drawn from the museum’s permanent collection and new works on loan from significant private collectors of contemporary glass in the desert communities. Noted national and international artists in this exhibition show a range of glass techniques and their diverse subjects range from the narrative and figurative to the natural world and the exploration of color in space. Now - Nov 30: Yesterday ... Polar Ice
Pittsburg, PA. Sean Broderick, a junior at Pittsburgh Allderdice High School and PGC glass artist, spent a week in the Arctic Circle participating with 17 other students selected from around the world to attend a leadership camp sponsored by Polar Bears International (PBI). Continuing that mission, Sean has created an exhibition of kiln formed glass art about the impact of climate change which incorporates photos from his leadership camp experience into glasswork. His work is on display at the Squirrel Hill Library branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.

Now - Dec 27: Lino Tagliapietra in Retrospect: A Modern Renaissance in Italian Glass
Palm Springs, CA. Held at the Palm Springs Art Museum. This exhibition, a comprehensive forty-year retrospective of Tagliapietra's art and career, documents and celebrates his remarkable achievements as a contemporary artist. The exhibition includes 169 art works that range from a room-size installation of his impressive Endeavor boat series, to groupings of masterful goblets, to elegant and evocative sculptural forms. Now - Jan 3, 2010: The Study: Lotte ThorsØe
Denmark. The Study is a space made available for smaller, experimental exhibition projects, which are not necessarily part of the museum's planned exhibition schedule and often taken in at short notice. It is a space for younger artists, who can use it as a platform to establish themselves, but also gives well-established artists the possibility to experiment with new ideas, for example in connection with longer, more complex projects. Now - Jan 3, 2010: Voices of Contemporary Glass: The Heineman Collection
Corning, NY. At the Corning Museum of Glass. Will showcase the 240 objects, by 87 international artists, that constitute the Heineman Collection. The Heineman Collection is distinguished by the wide-ranging history of studio glass that it represents, with objects dating from 1969 to 2005, and by its focus on selected artists whose work has been influential to artists working in glass worldwide. While over half of the artists in the Heineman Collection are American, there is a wide representation of European artists, as well as artists working in the United Kingdom and Japan. Mobile, AL. This exhibition combines two of the most vibrant and inventive areas in the decorative arts today- glass and jewelry. Now - Jan 10, 2010: The Return
Pittsburg, PA. Held at Pittsburg Glass Center. Sheila Klein a Washington state-based artist (who hails from Pittsburgh) has selected Pittsburgh Glass Center and its artists as her partners to adorn the new bridge that will link Shadyside and East Liberty. Klein plans to employ local glass artists to create thousands of glass "sequins" to dress the cyclone fencing on the pedestrian bridge. Information at Pittsburg Glass Center

Sunderland, UK. Held at the National Glass Center. Features the work of Václa Cigler’s, which concentrates on objects made from optical glass, on design and realizations of illuminated objects and jewellery, drawings, installations and compositions for architecture, represents five principles: glass, water, space, light and the individual. Space and glass become elements of communication, water and light symbolize the basic elements of life, and the individual and space become one with the art. This exhibition co-curated by National Glass Centre and Michal Motycka will explore Cigler’s affinity for space and the way he transforms his material so that his work exists as a spatial experience for the viewer. Denmark. A partnership formed from attraction which also became an ongoing creative relationship. Emma Woffenden is an artist, Tord Boontje is a designer; together they discussed, collaborated and disagreed for 16 years.
