Jul 31 - Aug 1: Aspects of 20th Century Glass
Glaziers Hall, London. Following the successful 2005 conference on 19th century glass painting (see resume below), in the summer of 2008 the British Society of Master Glass Painters, in association with the Worshipful Company of Glaziers, will host a second two-day conference at Glaziers' Hall. Aug 1 - 5: 2008 American Glass Guild Conference
Cherry Hill, NJ. The American Glass Guild (AGG) is pleased to announce their third annual conference to be held August 1-3rd, 2008, followed by two days of tours of important stained glass installations in the Philadelphia area. Speakers include Dr. Nicola Gordon Bowe, from the National College of Art & Design in Dublin, Ireland. Conservators from the Lincoln Cathedral in England will present the celebrated recent treatment of the Dean's Eye Rose Window. Rowan LeCompte will discuss his significant body of work, created over the past 60 years for a wide array of installations including the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. An auction will be held to benefit the AGG's James Whitney Scholarship Fund which provides support for training, workshops and conference attendance both in the US and abroad. For the first time the AGG will have an exhibit of members' work at the conference site. All members are encouraged to participate, but space is limited, so reservations must be made. Aug 7 - 10: The Gathering XVI
Oakland, CA. Sponsored by the International Society of Glass Bead Makers. Held at the Oakland Convention Center. Event includes workshops, classes and seminars, contests, and Bead Bazaar. Registration and additional information at isgb.org

Aug 21 - 24: Interweave Bead Fest Philadelphia
Philadelphia, PA. Held at Valley Forge Convention Center 1160 First Avenue King of Prussia, PA 19406. Event includes classes and expo. Take classes and be inspired by a fabulous and amazing assortment of beads, jewelry and creative minds to go along with them! Show information at beadfest.com

Aug 22 - 25: Third International Festival of Glass
Stourbridge, UK.  The third International Festival of Glass is the highlight of every glass enthusiast’s calendar. Reinvigorating Stourbridge’s reputation as a global glass centre it draws large national and international audiences into Stourbridge and the Black Country to see glassmaking at its finest. Featuring world class exhibitions, including the prestigious British Glass Biennale, demonstrations, performances and events, the festival shatters all preconceptions by presenting a multi-media, visually exciting and dynamic interpretation. Aug 28 - 31: British Society of Master Glass Painters Annual Conference

Sep 6 - 7: 12th Annual International Conference "Sources of Inspiration"
Scotland. Held at North Lands Creative Glass. TThis two day conference with a wide range of speakers examines sources of inspiration. Speakers confirmed include Master Class Leaders Richard Jolley, April Surgent Ann Wolff, Chirstopher Burns and Jean-Marc Abcarius. Sep 18 - 21: Glass Now 2008 Weekend and Auction

Sep 27: Vinery Stained Glass NEW Studio Grand Opening

Jun 1 - 3: Forum for the Conservation and Restoration of Stained-Glass Windows
New York. The three day Forum will consist of two full days of oral presentations and poster sessions at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's largest and finest art museums. Evening receptions will be held at The Cloisters and in the newly renovated Engelhard Courtyard, which will allow participants to view some of the Museum's extensive holdings of European and American stained glass. The third day of the conference will be spent viewing stained glass in situ in five Manhattan churches in the company of local experts. The day and the conference will end with a reception at the National Arts Club, a landmarked building which also contains significant installations of stained glass. The conference is open to all interested stained glass professionals, including conservators, conservation scientists, architects, cultural heritage managers, art historians, students, etc. The venue is intended to provide an unprecedented opportunity for experts from Europe and The United States to meet and share their expertise and experience.
