On Demand: Beginning Bead Making

Nov 3: Fundamentals of Fusing
North Hampton, NH. Held at Accents in Glass. 6:00-9:00PM. Tuition: $75. Learn the basics of glass fusing and make two 4" square fused glass tiles. This hands on class will introduce students to basic fusing techniques, glass cutting, kiln operation and material selection. Find out what "frit", "noodles", and "stringers" are all about and use them to create little works of art that you can use as tiles, coasters or wall art. This class provides the basic skills to allow you to go on to create jewelry, bowls, trays, clocks and other fused glass pieces and it is a prerequisite for most of our other fusing classes. No experience is required for the Beginner Copper Foil class. The Beginner Copper Foil class is required as a prerequisite for the Beginner Lead Class. Learn the basics of building a copper foil or leaded stained glass piece- cutting, grinding, leading and soldering. This is the "next step" - where you will learn a variety of techniques and "tricks" to make your stained glass experience easier and more enjoyable. North Hampton, NH. Held at Accents in Glass. 6:00 - 9:00PM. Tuition: $65. Learn the techniques for creating stained glass art using the copper foil method. We provide step-by-step instruction in pattern preparation, glass selection, glass cutting, the copper foil process, soldering and finishing your piece. Nov 7: Angel Candle Holder
Lexington, KY. Held at Hallock Stained Glass. Tuition: $75 + Bead Making Kit. One-on-one instruction. Intended for students with little to no bead making experience, emphasis will be on learning how to use the Hot Head bead making torch to make glass beads. Basic skills such as safety, winding the glass onto the mandrel, surface decoration, and several bead shapes will be practiced. Nov 7: Twinkles Workshop
North Hampton, NH. Held at Accents in Glass. 10:00am -12:00PM, Tuition: $40. Back by popular demand !!! Multi-faceted bevels create a beautiful home accent. This hands on class requires no glass cutting skills. We will show you how to foil your bevels and solder them together to create a dazzling Twinkle. Pick a small Twinkle kit. Nov 7: Christmas Tree Candy Dish
Cooper City, FL. Held at Art Glass Connection. Tuition: $42 and INCLUDES 2 pieces of white fusible glass, snowman and holly decals, use of 22K gold pen, a full fuse firing and a second slump to shape firing. 2:00 - 5:00PM. Nov 8: Precious Pendants
Pittsburgh, PA. Tuition: $75.  3:00 - 5:00PM. Flamework your own Precious Pendant out of borosilicate glass in this two-hour workshop, students will gather, apply color, and shape there own wearable piece. A torch demonstration will be given on the compression technique along will a few twists to make your piece truly unique. No experience is necessary. Nov 10: Fused Plates and Bowls Class
North Hampton, NH. Held at Accents in Glass. 6:00-9:00PM. Tuition: $75. Love fusing - this is the class you have been waiting for. Students will have the opportunity to make a high quality piece of art glass while learning about firing larger pieces and using larger kilns. Your plate will go through two firings - one full fuse and one slump. Tools will be available for use but, students must bring a round mold 11" in diameter or less or square mold 8" or less and their glass. Nov 10 - 12: Advanced Fused Bowls
Denver, CO. Held at D & L Art Glass Supply. Tuition: $575. Instructor: Patty Gray. 9:00am - 4:00PM. Learn to make a fabulous fused glass dish using several advanced kiln working techniques in this three-day workshop. No Patty Gray classes are ever the same. Even if you’ve taken a previous workshop you will certainly gather many new skills and ideas in this course. Among other techniques, Patty will teach students numerous warm glass processes including combing and raking, creating and incorporating pattern bars, hi-fire/open-faced casting, use of stringers, mica, powders, metal inclusions and so much more. Patty will demonstrate stringer and cane-pulling techniques using the vitrograph and teach you several cold working to complete your fused glass work. Hands-on fusing experience is required. Nov 12: Moravian Star

Nov 13 - 15:Jane Perisco's Kiln Cast Lighting Fixtures
Portland, OR. Held at Uroboros Glass. Tuition: $600 includes all glass and lunch. 9am - $ PM. Class Limit: 6. This is a "hands on" workshop that will sharpen your design skills and enhance your kiln casting knowledge. Jayne steps you through fabricating various casting components that can be used as lighting fixtures or in other larger projects. You will have all the necessary tools, glass and instruction to leave with a finished lamp shade! She shares her tips, tricks and techniques using reusable glass casting molds: correct preparation for flawless casting, how to fill glass molds accurately for consistent results and the firing and annealing guidelines specific to these molds and this size casting. Jayne's expertise in frit color gradation will be another highlight of this very special workshop, as she helps you develop the methodology to create your very own custom frit color palette. Nov 12 - 17: Advanced Fusing Techniques and More
Denver, CO. Held at D & L Art Glass Supply. Tuition: $895. Instructor: Patty Gray. 9:00am - 4:00PM. Throughout this class Patty will inspire you with several advanced warm glass techniques including building and firing thick fused glass pieces (3/4” thick), creating and incorporating pattern bars, pulling stringers with the vitrograph and more! Throughout each project Patty will guide you with a deep focus on design and personal intent. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with painting on glass using various paints, powdered glass and air brushing with mica powders. Projects include sushi dishes, bowls, a sculptural piece, bas-relief, hi-fire and open-face castings, combing hot glass and even more. Nov 14: Introduction to Fusing: Ornaments
Hattiesburg, MS.  Held at Seraphim Studios. Tuition: $100 and includes all supplies and lunch. 9:00 am - 3:00 PM. The first part of the class will include a discussion of the basics of glass fusing, including types of kilns, kiln set up and maintenance, glass compatibility, and other issues. Following the technical portion of the class, each student will have the opportunity to make several fused glass holiday ornaments, using precut blanks, noodles, frit, and dichroic accents. Nov 14: Fused Dichroic Pendant and Earrings
Cooper City, FL. Held at Art Glass Connection. Tuition: $10 per project, minimum 3 per person. 2:00 - 5:00 PM. Gettysburg, PA. Held at Wentz Stained Glass Studio. Tuition: $75. 9:00am - 1:00PM. Learn to use the Beetle Bits system to create a Prairie style lantern. Nov 14: Morton Portable Glass Shop
North Hampton, NH. Held at Accents in Glass. 11:00am-1:00PM. Tuition: $45. Learn to use the Morton Portable Glass shop to cut precise repetitive geometric shapes. This class shows you how to easily and quickly make accurate cuts with very little waste. Students will set up their own Portable Glass Shop while learning to cut basic strips, squares and rectangles and then advance to triangles, diamonds and other shapes. Complete a quilt pattern in record time with pieces that fit together with no grinding. Take your project home to foil and solder or fuse. Nov 19: Blown Glass Ornaments

Cooper City, FL. Held at Art Glass Connection. Tuition: $55 and all of the fused glass, frit, stringer and firing is included . 11:00am - 3:00 PM. You have to see this piece in person to appreciate the dimension and colors of the flowers and leaves ! It is the fusing class that everyone has been asking for. Based on the popular book, Fused Pictures in Glass, you will learn to create beautiful mini works of art. We will even pull stringer in a torch for accents. Must have glass cutting skills. Nov 21: Fused Christmas Tree
Gettysburg, PA. Held at Wentz Stained Glass Studio. Tuition: $15. Anytime between 1:00 and 4:00PM. Walk in anytime between 1pm and 4pm. The project takes about a half hour to make. Beginning Fusing ClassNov 21: Moravian Stars
Allentown, PA. Held at Warner Stained Glass. Tuition: $50. 10:00am - 2:00PM. Spend the day making a 12 pointed, three-dimensional Moravian star. It is said that these originated as a geometry lesson for young boys in Germany. Who says you can’t learn geometry while having fun! Students will be given the opportunity to work with the Morton Cutting System and Beetle Bits Cutting System. Other hand-cutting tools will be available to use in the classroom. Pre-requisite: A beginning Glassblowing class at the Mesa Arts Center or instructor's permission. Continue to advance your Italian style skills to create blown vessels while working in teams. Nov 24 & Dec 1: Box Tile Casting
Pittsburgh, PA. Tuition: $155.  6:30-8:30PM. This is a multi-day workshop offering students the chance to kiln cast their own 8” x 8” clear glass tile using the Bullseye box casting method. Students will take the first day to sculpt an object out of clay that they want imprinted into their tile. Alginate will be used to make a negative of the clay mold in order to make multiple plaster/silica positives. Students will then calculate how much clear glass will be needed to fill their molds. The second day of this class will be used to polish the clear tiles in the cold shop. After this two-day workshop, you will walk away with a basic knowledge of box kiln casting, alginate and plaster/silica mold making, polishing and your very own glass tile! krazy cat fusing tileNov 27: Krazy Kat Fusing with Frit & Liquid Stringer
Cooper City, FL. Held at Art Glass Connection. Tuition: $55, includes all supplies. 11:00am - 3:00 PM. Don't fight the mall crowds this year. Instead, spend the day after Thanksgiving playing with glass. We've used the new persimmon glass as the border and added some confetti and fantasy fish. This "cat" even has piercing blue dichroic eyes. You'll learn to outline and decorate with Liquid Stringer and also how to use different size frit. Nov 28: Fused Christmas Cookies Workshop

Nov 28: Flat Panel Lamps Part 1
Cooper City, FL. Held at Art Glass Connection. Tuition: $55. 3:00 - 5:00 PM. This is a two part workshop and the return date will be determined by the attending students. Part 1 will be an introduction to lampmaking, how to choose the right type of glass and preparation tips for proper flat panel assembly. Part 2 will be the actual assembly of your beautiful lamp shade. Included in the class fee is your choice of several lamp patterns and a brass vase cap. Dec 2 - 6: Loren 1 Flameworking 5 Day Workshop
Mesa, AZ.  Held at the Mesa Arts Center. Tuition: $1325, supplies included. Instructor: Loren Stump. 10:00am - ~6:00 PM. If you take only one flameworking workshop, this is it, the most intense beginning flameworking workshop. Learn face murrini, signature cane, human body and animal sculpture. Techniques include cold assembly, hot sculpture, detail overlay, temperature control, tool use and fabrication. Make floral components to vacuum encase with Schott crystal into a flower paperweight. Fused Snowflake WorkshopDec 5: Fused Snowflake
Allentown, PA. Held at Warner Stained Glass. Tuition: $30. 10:30am - 12:300PM. Start your winter off with a little sparkle! This is a great beginner class for those who want to learn more about fusing. Students will learn the basics of fusing by creating 2 fused snowflakes (patterns are provided but students are encouraged to create their own, remember no two snowflakes are alike!). Dec 6: Blown Glass Ornaments

Using copper we can create imagery and use basic metal working techniques in combination with the glass. Make the bubble your friend by controlling and creating mysterious grids or patterns of bubbles. No experience required but even seasoned kiln workers will find this technique fascinating. Dec 12: Fused Dichroic Jewelry Workshop

Dec 12 & 19: Beginning Copper Foil or Beginning Leaded Glass Class
Mesa, Az. To be held at Kachina Stained Glass. Tuition $30 plus tools & supplies. Mornings 10:00AM-1:00PM. No experience is required for the Beginner Copper Foil class. The Beginner Copper Foil class is required as a prerequisite for the Beginner Lead Class. Learn the basics of building a copper foil or leaded stained glass piece- cutting, grinding, leading and soldering. Construct one of our pre-selected designs that can be completed in four weeks (see web page for pictures of class projects). Jan 9, 16, & 30: Beginning Stained Glass
Gettysburg, PA. Held at Wentz Stained Glass Studio. Tuition: $75 + tools. 9:00am - 12:00PM. This class teaches the basics of preparing a pattern, cutting the glass to a template, grinding and fitting the pieces, foiling and soldering the finished panel. The finished panel with then be framed if time permits. Jan 31, Feb 7, 14, 21, 28, Mar 7, 21, & 28: Flameworking II - Molding Moretti
Pittsburgh, PA. Tuition: $325.10 am -1 PM. Now that you have the basics, begin to hone your torchworking skills in this class while learning new techniques for sculpting soft glass in the flame. You’ll experience a deeper understanding of marble and bead making and expand into more advanced techniques including cane pulling and sculpting small figures such as animals or insects. Flameworking I, 24 hours experience, or permission of the instructor required. Basic materials provided. After week three of class, you are eligible to rent the studio on Fridays, between 10:00am - 12:00pm for ONLY $10/hour per person and this includes all tool rentals.
