The Armor Modeling and Preservation Society, or AMPS, was founded in July 1993 to take up the slack left by the collapse of the Association of Military Modelers in August 1992. Since that time, AMPS has grown to over 600 members worldwide. The purpose of AMPS is to foster a knowledge and appreciation of the history of armored vehicles, through examination of preserved examples located in both museums and private collections, in miniature through modeling.AMPS also hosts an international convention every spring in which the subject of armor is supreme

A national society with local branches in the UK. At meetings members discuss their hobby with other enthusiasts in their local area. The BMSS Bulletin is the Society's main magazine. Published quarterly, it contains articles on all aspects of modeling, collecting, painting, uniforms, show reports, and other subjects of interest to military modelers. BMSS hosts an annual show with trade stands, demonstrations and items on display. Visitors are welcome to come along to a meeting to find out more about the BMSS and its activities.
